Random fact about Kirk Gibson--he is in the college football HOF as a wide receiver at Michigan State. He may be the only MLB MVP winner to be in the college football HOF.

I believe he only played one year of baseball in college but managed to hit .390 with 16 HRs in 48 games.

I don't know if he is the last person, but Terry Pendleton wasn't an All Star in is 1991 MVP season.
