Default Daffy Dean Premium Identification

Hi-
I recently acquired the Daffy Dean premium scanned below. Does anyone know what set it is from? It is blank backed and similar in size to a Butterfinger, but Daffy is not in that set. I am sure it is easy but I cannot figure it out.
Thanks in advance,
Alan Elefson

Default 1934 Gold Medal Flour

Looks like 1934 Gold Medal Flour, sometimes catalogued as Paul Dean.

That is not a Gold Medal card. I'm not sure, but would like to know. Is it a 1940's anonymous premium photo or a premium from the early 1930's. Not a Butterfinger or any R issue; that I know.

You are right, but the GMF issue looks very similar...

It looks very similar to this Medwick I picked up at The National last year similarly sized. I have no idea what it is.

What size is it? Perhaps it is a team issue.

Thanks guys! It is 8 inches wide and 10 inches long. I really appreciate the help. Jeff, what size is your Medwick?

Alan

Looks like a Picture pack type photo-card to me. I just haven't found a Pack that has that exact pose....

Default Quaker Oats?

The Quaker Oats late 40's Hockey premiums are 8x10 and have an autograph facsimilie with no other markings. 1934 Quaker Oats Babe Ruth card is also 8x10, but I think it has a Quaker ad on the border.

The Gold Medal Flour Dean card uses a photo that looks like it was taken within minutes of the photo in the first post. You can see the same barn and trees in the background.

Probably doesn't make that much of a difference, but the uniform worn by Paul Dean in the picture can be narrowed to 1934-35 season, but of course they used the old previous season's uniforms in spring training too. The uniform & cap Medwick has on is from the 1938 season, but since he has the plastic suit on it could be from spring of '39... Doesn't really get us anywhere but what the heck, right?

Thanks again for all of the help. I am actually glad it was not easy to identify as I figured I had missed some obvious set. Are Cardinal team issues catalogued anywhere? I am curious as to which year this is.
Based on the jersey identification by JerseyGary it might appear that both are Cardinal team issues from different years. I also see that the Medwick signature appears to be thicker than the Dean. RC, I too see almost the exact same photo on the Gold Medal Flour card of Dean.
Does anyone have any similarly sized Cardinal team issue photos to post? I would really like to see a Dizzy Dean but will enjoy seeing any.

Thank you again,
Alan

Default Here is Dizzy

I have the Daffy Dean photo already posted. Here is the Dizzy Dean photo. Anyone have a guess as to what they are? Have not seen any other Cardinal players that would suggest a team issue. Just a thought that this was one of a few issues (Rice Stix, notebook covers, etc.) that the Dean Brothers appeared on during their heyday around 1934-35.

Very cool Dizzy! Maybe it was a local St. Louis issue just for the brothers? Any other thoughts? Does anyone own any other examples?
