I know this doesn't deal with vintage cards, but I thought this was an interesting read (I sent this to a fellow member who posted it on the CU board a few days ago).

Check what he added...

This is not meant as a defense of BGS, but I've handled quite a few O-Pee-Chee sets from the 1980s and I can tell you that there is considerable variation in size. There is also quite a bit of variation in the types of cuts I have seen. This is true for both hockey and baseball. Do some legitimate 1980s OPC cards have a relatively smooth cut and appear as if they have been cut from a sheet? Absolutely.

I think the seller is well-intentioned, but based on his statement and his feedback, perhaps some of his unstudied criticism is unwarranted.

While I can not comment on the newer series cards, whenever I see something that runs against the grain I immediately look at feedback. The seller has a lot of good feedback but does have quite a few "issues" too.

Just to give you an idea how long I have been out of the hobby, Does Becckett still own a card shop or two? I know that back in the 80s this was major sore point with a lot of people since the guy was producing a price guide and at the same time had a vested interest in what happened to prices of various cards.
