Default does this sgc holder looked tampered with?

Posted By: pete

the card was graded a 30/2 by sgc and the description states there are only 2 small creases. but look at the edges of the holder how it looks frosted. i've never "cracke" out any card from any brand of holder but i've heard that this happens (frosting) when tampered with. seller has good feedback and told me they would relist the card soon...

what are your expert or non-expert opinions?

Holder looks ok. I have seen the card before and the creases that he mentions are more like tears, at least one of them is as I vividly recall. The card has been on ebay 3 or 4 times under various ids in the past year.

Technically speaking I do not know. I have seen this plenty of times in varying degrees on PSA and SGC holders. A tampered holder will look different than that. It will be frosted but the areas impacted will be much longer.

Personally, I have cracked out quite a few cards (Screw driver first tap, then an oyster knife around edges). The resulting "frosting" I have encountered is much more evident than shown in these scans. Looks more like good old reflection.

Just my "frosty" opinion, I have no knowledge of card, seller, or value.

I don't think that is frosting, but light reflecting. If you compare where the frosting occurs on the front vs the back, it doesn't match up. So it is most likely glare from the light source.

I'm incompetent at being incontenent.

I'd say 75% of my SGC holders look like that and I sent them to SGC. So...I'm the only owner ever of these cards since they were placed in them. Those "frosting" marks as you call them are in the same place as mine as well. I'm guessing that's just where they put them together.
