Default Should There Be An Ebay Fraud thread?

I was thinking it would be nice if there was a pinned "Ebay Alert" type thread for the many phoney items we are always seeing and being alerted to.
It would serve both to warn novices (like myself) and as a form of entertainment considering some of the junk people try to sell.
Anyone agree?

As Doug alluded, it would be a long list but it could be a really good learning tool for those just getting their feet wet.

Would be fine with me but if folks are giving opinions they will need their full name in their post, per the rules.

Is calling a counterfeit a counterfeit an opinion?

What do you think? What if you called it a fake and it wasn't?

It would be nice to explain why something is fake or a reprint instead of just saying see this fake card...............

The main reason is explaining how to tell it is a fake will give the scum that are making the fakes more info on how to make them better. At least that is why I do not do it and have seen several others say the same.

I totally agree and have posted the same sentiment elsewhere on N54. Educate vs pontificate.

Education is great but just be careful. There is no doubt that scammers read these boards to learn more tricks of their trade. But overall, I agree that giving reasons why something is bad is a good thing.
