Default Players in major Pre-WW2 sets also found in Zeenut issues

A little over a year ago there was a great thread about players that are found in both the T206 and Zeenut issues. In that thread Rhett Y. provided a detailed list of these cards, which I have pasted below.

George Stovall (17)
Gabby Street (33/36)
Jack Warhop (28)
Doc White (14-15)
Ed Willett (19 Willets)

In that thread Frank W. came up with an offshoot idea of creating a list of players in the classic 1933 Goudey set that are also seen in Zeenut issues. After a little bit of researching fun, I have compiled the below list. I may not have been as thorough as Rhett, but I think I got them all...let us know of any omissions/mistakes. I listed them in Goudey's numerical order.

Players in 1933 Goudey set and their corresponding Zeenut cards:

2 Dazzy Vance (1919)
5 Babe Herman (1925)
8 Roy Johnson (1927, 28)
25 Paul Waner (1923, 24, 25)
26 Chalmer Cissell (1927)
31 Tony Lazerri (1922, 25)
39 Mark Koenig (1937/38)
50 Ed Brandt (1925)
54 Ray Kremer (1914, 18-23)
58 Lefty O'Doul (1918, 21, 25-27, 33/36)
70 Floyd (Pete) Scott (1929, 33sepia)
75 Willie Kamm (1918-22, 33/36)
76 Mickey Cochrane (1924)
78 Jack Quinn (1916-17) -also in T206-
85 Heinie Sand (1918-22)
88 Russell Rollings (1929)
95 Alvin Crowder (1923)
98 Wally Berger (1928-29)
121 Walter Stewart (1933/36)
122 Alvin Crowder (as #95)
132 Jim Elliot (1926)
146 Walter Stewart (as #121)
148 Eddie Farrell (1931)
151 Jake Flowers (1925)
164 Lloyd Waner (1925-26)
177 Walter French (1930)
178 Jackie Warner (1924-25)
184 Charley Berry (1926)
190 John Schulte (1931)
193 Lynford Lary (1926-28)
194 Earl Averill (1926-28)
195 Evar Swanson (1926-28)
196 Leroy Mahaffey (1929)
206 Gus Suhr (1925-29)
216 Lefty Gomez (1929)

224 Frank Demaree (1931-32)

Great list Brian! This is very useful. I hadn't seen Rhett's list before either, which is great as well.

I know that Myrill Hoag has a Zeenut, as well as a '34 Goudey... Maybe if others know of more we could expand to include '34 players and cards.

Default 1934 Goudey added

Thanks Matt for the suggestion...ask and you will receive. I have added the 1934 Goudey players found in Zeenut issues to the original post.

I would like to thank the late Don McPherson and late Buck Barker for doing all the original mind-numbing research on players in the Zeenut issues that had major league careers. The articles originally appeared in a series of Old Judge Newsletters back in the 1980's. Without this list I could not/would not even attempt such an endeavor...they made it so easy for me.

Thought I would re-post various threads I started or was involved in the distant past, not only because members who have joined within the last few years probably have not seen them and might find something of interest, but also to provide some positive contrast to most of the current threads.

A positive contrast is always appreciated.
