Default What the heck is that thing?!!!

I was looking to purchase a graded 1911 Mecca double-folder of Zack Wheat on eBay; but when I took a close look at the card, there appeared to be a stain or some sort of printing defect on the card. So, I started looking at other listings of the same card, and I realized that all the cards had the same "stain". (I really don't know what to call it.)

Is it a printing defect?
Is it, perhaps, a dead tree?
What the heck is that thing?!!!

It looks like something (like maybe a bug) got smashed onto the printing plate and then caused stray black ink to be transferred onto the cards as they came through the printing process.

Default My card has it too

I was going to post my card to show mine also has the mark. But I see you already have my card as your PSA example above.

Default Craning my brain, once again

With that building in the background, I believe it was meant to look like a cityscape, so perhaps it is a 1910 era version of a crane?

I don't have a scan handy, but it's very clear on my copy. It's definitely Godzilla.
