This actually looks doable. 48 cards? Are there any really tough ones here Ted?

There are as many as 17 different backs that each of the 48 Subjects in the 460-only Series can be found with.

These top 5 backs are moderately tough to find in this series.

.............................these 7 backs....\/....are very tough to find in this series...../\

The Piedmont 460 Factory 42 has been confirmed on only 12 cards in this series.

I will list the known Piedmont 460 Factory 42 cards shortly in another post.

And, let's not overlook the Broad Leaf 460 back. This extremely rare back will be covered in my next post.

OK guys & gals, The Monster gets complicated when you consider all these various T-backs......I welcome all questions ?

The toughest one is Frank Smith (Chi & Bos). This card does not exist with Sovereign 460.

Kleinow (Bos) can be tough also. This card, also, does not exist with Sovereign 460.

The remaining 46 are about equally available.

For clarification on EPDG; are you saying that if I have an example of any of the cards on this list with an EPDG back, that the EPDG card in question would be a 460 Series?

Yes, it certainly is a 460 series card. There have not been too many EPDG cards found in this series.

Regarding the BROAD LEAF 460 back in this series, only one has been confirmed.....Kleinow (Boston).
But, since Kleinow (Boston) is really considered to be a 350/460 Subject (without any 350 backs)....
it can be stated that no 460-only cards are found with the BROAD LEAF 460 back.

But, I am not 100% certain of this fact, since a Schaefer (Washington) card is rumored to exist.

Ted,

Isn't SC 350-460 subject f42 is part of this series? I am talking about the regular f42 NOT the one with the wave bar overprint.

Default T206....460-only Series....checklist & backs

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis

The following backs in the 460-only Series are easy to find and are listed in order of their
availability......

1st......PIEDMONT 460 Fac. 25
2nd......SWEET CAP 460 Fac 30
3rd......SWEET CAP 460 Fac 42 (overprint)
4th......SWEET CAP 460 Fac 42

However, the SWEET CAP 460 Fac 25....is very tough to find.

Conversely, the PIEDMONT 460 Fac. 42 is very rare in the 460-only Series. We have not
found any more beyond the following 12 cards printed with the P460/42 back......

Bergen (catching)
Chase (Trophy)
Devore
Kleinow (Boston)
Latham
Merkle (throwing)
Murray (portrait)
Overall (blue sky)
Schaefer (Washington)
Seymour (portrait)
Smith (Boston & Chicago)
Wiltse (portrait-cap)

The relative scarcity of the P460/42 in this Series is evident in two independent surveys.
Both of which indicated that ONE of approx. every 355 - PIEDMONT 460's is a P460/42
card.

Checkout your PIEDMONT 460's. You might be surprised to find that you have a P460/42 ?
And, if it's not on this list, please let's know about it ? ?

Thanks,

TED Z
