The other was getting long, so I'll start a new post with a Pennant I found this afternoon in an antique mall. I date it to the late 30s early 40s based on the full size, thin tassels, and heavy soft felt. The only condition issue is the missing tassel. |

I am currently waiting for this 1960 Pirates plaque to arrive. I bought one a while back but it arrived badly broken. I'm hoping it doesnt happen again because this is a cool looking piece. |

I picked up another two cheap wire photos from the 30's. One is Ed Wells 1932 and the other is with Red Rolfe and Bill Terry from the World series. And also a 1965-1970 Yogi Berra store model bat. |

Neat Pennant, Mike! I have the more common Brooklyn Dodgers version with an identical design. Have never seen a Yankees variation in 20 years of collecting these... yours is a rare find! |

Just got my 1936 LA Angels 36" panorama framed (42" with frame). Anyone have any good ideas about how to take a good picture to get rid of glare and have the whole photo? Do I need to find a wide angle lens? |

Nice Max...Can't wait to see it. I couldn't get a good shot of my 40+ inch panorama at all with my digital camera. You probably need a good camera or whatever it is that the auction houses use. |

Thanks for the feedback Mark. I had no idea it was a scarce piece. Can't wait to see the figural. |

Mike, it seems you're having some great luck at your local antique mall lately...Congrats. It looks like they used an image of Miller Huggins yelling from the bench for that pennant. |

I dont think I have ever seen any decent baseball items at any antique stores where I live (Jacksonville). A few overpriced gloves here and there but nothing great. I would love to be able to go to antique stores and find items like that pennant. Nice pick up. |

Picked this up last month. I thought the pennants were 1936-37 BF3s but they are about a half inch too large. Another mystery for my bf3 collection. |

Got this in the mail today...small panorama of a team with "Lincoln" on their jerseys....nothing written on the back of the photo so I don't know if this is a Nebraska team or not...hopefully someday I will find a nice photo match. |

It could also be a Lincoln, Illinois college or minor league team photo. |

They look too old to be high schoolers so I think it's probably a town team or low minor league team. Would be great if this matched up with a Spalding guide photo somewhere...that's probably my only hope to ever identify it. |

Figural Pieces from the Late Teens / Early 20's are insanely scarce. I was fortunate to pick this one up from Heritage, in one of their recent weekly internet auctions. This very piece was featured in the REA Auction 2 years ago... |

Speaking of smoking-related baseball memorabilia, I'm still kicking myself for not bidding on the handful of cigarette cases/tabletop holders that were part of Hunt's DiMaggio Estate auction. I'm a lifelong smoker, and would have loved to own one of Joltin' Joe's pocket cig holders. What a conversation piece! |
