Default Another cobb question

Just browsing ebay auctions and saw this cobb check. Is handwrighting in someone elses hand? Alot of inconsistant letters from what I"m used to seeing him write. Or am I wrong seeing it this way?. Sorry for another question just trying to be as educated about subject as possible. The signature looks ok to me but not the text part of the check. link is here

Thanks again,

Mike

Your observation is spot on.

In general it is not unusual to find checks filled out by someone else but signed by the correct person. Many times if an assistant or secretary was the one who signed the person's name, they would write 'by so-and-so' underneath or initial it.

Almost all Cobb checks were made out entirely in hand , he was very attentive about his finances so they may have been made out by his wife mostly late 1940's to 1950's they were indeed signed by Ty ....BTW the older "Augusta" bank checks are far more attractive and sell for a premium....Best wishes in your collecting pursuits
