Tony,

I don't think Will Rogers ever met Mr. Mint.

Wayne Rogers from M*A*S*H fame?

Truly one of the most senseless posts to date...

"Truly one of the most senseless posts to date..."

And on this board, that's really saying something.

I wonder if Mr. Rogers (of Mr. Rogers fame) would have liked him? I wonder if Will Rogers, Wayne Rogers or Fred Rogers collected vintage baseball cards? Does anyone really care?

I will freely admit that I do not know these Will, Fred, Donny or Wayne guys; but I do know that only Hornsby was too good to be singular.

And he alone is known as Rogers.

This has really gotta officially be the most "Seinfeld" thread in the history of time. A thread about nothing. But a whole lot of discussion about the nothingness of the thread.

This must be the vintage card equivalent of November, December and January in the baseball season. A few newsworthy notes, but mostly waiting for pitchers and catchers to report.

J

Great call on Wayne Rogers. I bet Trapper had a nasty curveball.

Trying to get this thread back to vintage cards, is there a Rogers-Peet card of Will Rogers? Or Roy Rogers?

For Peets sake, I couldn't find a complete checklist for that issue... It's supposed to be a sports and aviation grouping so I'm not sure if either (Roy or Will Rogers) would be included... however there is a Rogers Hornsby in the Rogers-Peet set.

Putting Will Rogers in an aviation set would be tacky and tasteless.

I do believe I've seen cards of him in Gallagher, Facchino, or one of the other non-sports sets from the 1930s on eBay though.

He also appears in the 1952 Topps Look N See set.

would be 127 years old soon. Born in Oolagah Oklahoma.
His father was a Senator and well known judge. Interesting person for sure.
