Jim-
Nice Keeler. I'd love to have it. But you must agree that is hardly an 8....it does look like a strong 5 however.

Like I said Jim...they are nice cards and I'd love to have them. However you don't think the Keeler is a strong push as an 8? If there were the truth to the big dealers getting slack on grades...that card would have to be proof Jim.

You don't need to get all defensive...again..nice card..but chocolate cake is chocolate cake.

Dave - You have to admit, that Keeler is nowhere near a 5 - not a strong 5, not a strong 6 - maybe a strong 7, but hard to tell. There isn't even so much as a single flake on the side... compare some recent grades - it's every bit an 8.

Edited to add: Jim - great cards, regardless of the numerical grade or not. Some of the nicest T-204's ever posted on this board.

Jim is sharing scans of his cards...which he has not done before. Why not just say thank you and move on. If you don't like the cards...so be it. I appreciate Jim sharing the scans, and they certainly look better than any T-204s I own.

Jim-

You are now unstoppable!

Try scanning with cover open and no overhead light. They will have the pure black background the SGC crowd likes so much.

Thanks for the scans, they are awesome.

Marc,
I was all for Jim sharing his cards. I just didn't know his were above the scrutiny everybody else's cards get when posted here or anywhere else....

I personally wouldn't get offended if someone said my PSA 4 looked like a 2...but whatever makes everyone happy I guess.

For some reason I just don't get the logic in not being able to comment on a card's grade...gee whiz, someone commented on my cards so I'll take them and go home?

Besides the fact I said I liked the Ramly's and would love to have them....

Jim C.,

You post a lot of things on this board that I don't agree with, but I must say I appreciate the scans of the great cards you've shared tonight.

And because of the juvenile shots that you're taking after almost every post of another card, I wouldn't blame you a bit if you said the hell with it and stopped scanning/posting altogether.

Thanks again.

Rob

Exactly what is juvenile about commenting on a card's grade? Is it juvenile only if I say a PSA 6 looks like a 4...or also if I say a PSA 6 looks like an 8?

I dont know how many times on here I read "how did that card get a 4" or PSA screwed up on that one by two grades...

what the difference? because its Jim's cards??? Good lord.

Yes..Jim has a wonderful collection..yes Jim has more money in cards then three of my houses put toghether..but they are freaking cards like everyone else's....wow.

No problem. Having so much fun with my new scanner, not going to let anything affect me.

Sagard--thanks for the tips--actually Al had told me those--just forgot.

Actually I agree with Joe Canfield. I think the Keeler is a strong 7/weak 8 and the Bender a solid 8.

Cheers,

Jim

I've wanted to add a T204 to my collection for ages. I've been looking at, like, 1s and 2s. Now, looking at the Ramly's in this thread (not just Jim's, but Jon's as well), I may just have to suck it up and get a 3.

Great cards, guys.

Awesome cards!!! I absolutely hate it when PSA's insert area is oversized relative to the card's dimensions...as is the case with your Keeler. What's to keep the card from sliding around and bumping the corners? It may not be a big deal with a vg card, but a nm/mt T204 deserves better.

Nice cards Jim...is the T204 set one that you are working on or are these just cards you picked up because you like them?

Anyone have a T204 Fred Beebe they wouldn't mind posting?

Dave, given all the glare in these scans, how int he world can tell if these cards are overgraded or not. I sure can't. Juvenile is a good description for your posts in this thread.

it's nice to know that besides experts like peter thomas, scott b., and long time set collectors like bill c. and bob craik we have a new authority on t204s who can comment and make judgement on others' t204s on this board.

Dave F., your lack of class shows every time you post. Jim is very proud of his collection and he has damn good reason to be. Unlike you, he has no ulterior motives for posting scans of his cards. He simply wants to share his collection with the forum members. You, on the other hand, are nothing more than a disgusting POS that constantly starts threads, shows scans, and plays dumb in a very poor attempt at being sneaky while trying to sniff out a buyer for your latest flip on the main forum. Your pathetic act is extremely transparent as well as very stale.

Hi Matt. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to jot down some of your feelings on me, as well as on Jim's wonderul collection and how proud he is of it. I get it.

I'll also email you in the morning since you were kind enough to leave your email or at least an email there.

Dave,

I am not a Jim Crandell fan and I don't know you at all, so I hope you're able to understand where I'm coming from when I ask you why in the world you would want to give the guy crap when he finally posts scans of some vintage cards??? Really, really nice vintage cards, by the way. You really can't see why some people have a problem with your post?

All I'm saying is when something you post gets people to come to the defense of Jim Crandell, well maybe it's time to take a good long look in the mirror, because I would personally find that very disturbing. In fact, I would probably give away all of my belongings and move to some tiny village in the Himalayas to "find myself," surviving on a diet of green tea and yak butter. But that's just me. I do live in Boulder.

Jim has done a lot of posting on this board, very little of which has had anything to do with vintage cards, although I'm sure he would disagree with me on that point. Regardless, I am genuinely appreciative to see him make the effort to post those scans and hope it continues.

-Ryan

Ryan-
I appreciate the way you brought your words across....

I honestly was just trying to comment on the cards...not based on Jim or anything else...heck he's got thousands of dollars in each one...isnt it kind of fun to try and find flaws with cards like that?

I guess the majority here feel it was best to just say "wow Jim, great scans and great cards". I had no issue with Jim doing what he did by scanning these in...I liked it myself. And I thought orginally I told Jim that too..

Heck Jim even agreed with me (well with someone else) that the Bender was more likely a 7 than an 8....sort of.

But anyway..point taken Ryan, I do appreicate the way you brought this across as opposed to a couple jackasses.

From now on with Jims scans I wont comment anything more than "congrats" or "good job".

Jim, actually it isnt a bad restaurant...but if you want to throw another in the mix I would strongly suggest Village Tavern in Alpharetta...

Its not Itailian but does have a nice variety...I was there just this past Saturday.

http://www.villagetavern.com/

And again Jim..I am sorry if you mistook what I was trying to say about your cards as juvenile insults. I've personally never minded anyone saying any of my cards are weak or strong for the grades...and my first statement was that I'd love to have those cards...unfortuantely there are many idiots on this board.
