Noticed an ink stain on a 1972 Topps Roberto Clemente "In Action" card is actually a signature. PSA charges over $150+ to authenticate anything of Clemente so looking to hear any thoughts prior to submitting. I'd posted on Instagram a couple of weeks ago, but most people just messaged with offers to buy it rather than any information, so hoping this is a more appropriate place to get answers. And given that he died in 1972 -- generally wondering how many 1972 Topps cards he might have signed that are out there?
Not sure why the photos won't upload, but I placed them into a public dropbox folder so the links should work. -- https://www.dropbox.com/s/t1675gaa3b...mente.jpg?dl=0 -- https://www.dropbox.com/s/vd5et8ukfk...ente2.jpg?dl=0 |

I am not clear on exactly what information you are looking for? Legit 1972 Clemente signed cards are uncommon - there are 5 regular issue (#309) 1972 authenticated by PSA and 3 copies of the card you have #310. One of the signed #309's sold in 2011 for about 7k - see below link. https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c...a/7041-80368.s Assuming you believe yours to be authentic (which I have no opinion on as I am no expert in his autograph), I think having it authenticated by PSA is a no brainer. If it comes back authentic and you want to sell it then I would think a high profile auction would be the way to go. If there is something else you wanted to know - just ask. Howard |

Until a few weeks ago these were considered to be pretty rare. I know I paid dearly for mine and still felt lucky to have one. This seller changed that. He said he bought an estate in Arizona and there were "many" of these in a box.

Here’s an item you rarely see (actually the only one I’ve seen). It ended recently on eBay, and unfortunately was well over what my snipe would have been. Maybe a board member won it. Thought some of you would enjoy seeing this.

I missed it!!
I know the winner - he emailed me this morning. Sadly I also had the seller of the box "saved". Just never saw it till I saw his email this morning. Also the only time I've seen this item.
