Default St Louis Uniform/Player Help (1895-1905)

Can anyone here id the coat worn by this player (the brown full-body image)? Or even better, the player himself?

I have also uploaded a few pictures of 1905 St Louis Browns with this coat on ... MINUS the arm bands with the StL logo on it. (The players are Buchanan and Moran ... there are lots more pics of other players with the coat on from the same day.)

I know that local teams sometimes had knockoffs of jerseys made but it seems (to me, anyway) more of a stretch that someone would have a knockoff of the heavy coat as well.

Everything appears to match on the coats, even the buttons, apart from that arm band. My hope is that the bands were added for a later season or removed from the coats following a previous season.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am sorry I can't help but it was an odd coincidence to see the listing. Just this afternoon I ordered the new book ST. LOUIS CARDINALS UNIFORMS & LOGOS from their website! It is a history in color charts and photos of their uniforms.

My wife gave me their other new book CARDINALS RELICS for Christmas, it is a tour of their wonderful museum.

At least in the resolution posted, I'm not seeing the "L" in the logo. Looks more like an "I" inside the "S".

Actually, if you look at the right sleeve, it looks like a J through the S with a T on the end.
San Jose?
San Jacinto?

Thanks for the feedback guys (and thanks Leon for moving the thread).

Good call John - I actually hadn't zoomed in enough on the left side to see that, I just assumed it was StL but it really appears to be StJ. Mystery solved - it will remain a mystery!

Side note: I am surprised at just how similar this coat is to the St Louis uniforms.

I agree it is likely a "J" so it is likely something like St. Joseph (perhaps Missouri?) or even a college player for one of the many St joseph's colleges across the country)
