Default PSA and Sales Tax

I just joined the PSA Collectors Club. While I was checking out I noticed that I was charge sales tax of 6.67%. I live in Texas and had always understood that PSA was located in California. As such, should I have been charged sales tax? Do they have operations in Texas?

Certain services are taxable in Texas.

Since PSA is in CA, it seems like they shouldn't be adding taxes to transactions in Texas. However, don't they have working relationships with dealers in Texas so that people can take their cards to those dealers to have the cards sent in? If that's the case, maybe they consider the dealers as part of their business locations. If so, maybe they can add the tax.

Welcome to the club. If Moonbeam can find a way to stick it to you, he will.

Default Not sure of the Psa question

But I know many states including pa you are supposed to pay sales tax to the state on all transactions through the mail even if seller does not collect it you are supposed to pay it in. I as audited for this and had to pay a fee for my online and mail order purchases.

I think some services are taxable in some states. Tax isn't an area that businesses want to mess up so I am confident PSA probably isn't doing anything wrong in that area.
