Default Pre-War Cards in Standard Size

Posted By: peter chao

Guys,

In 1957 Topps established 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 as the standard size for a baseball card. Is there a pre-war color set that comes with those dimensions. Thanks in advance for the information.

Peter

E224-1 Texas Tommy are very close, only 1/8" away.

T227 and 1914 Baltimore News are also close.

fkw,

The Texas Tommy Type-1s are close in size (2 3/8 x 3 1/2), however, they were a black and white set. I'm looking for a prewar color set. Thanks.

Peter

Its rare enough to find a 2.5" by 3.5" PreWar card but your asking alot for a color photo one.

I dont think any color photo cards (ie 1957+ Topps) exist for before 1941 in any size.

They are either B&W (T209-2, R314), color tinted B&W (R312, W711-1), artist rendition made from a photo (ie T206, T227, Cracker Jack), or hand drawn (W514).

The oldest color photo card I can think of is the 1948 Signal Oil Oakland Oaks set. Any older than that?
