Not too much is known about these cards. These cards look AMAZING in a SGC holder. I just picked up four from a great board member. Can the board members post the examples they have?

Is there a difference in price or scarcity for the September 1st or October 1st variations?

Very little price difference if any. Both equally as rare. I've had both. Both priced about the same.

I'm pretty sure there are more difficult players. I know Ruth is in the set and I've never seen a scan before. The four cards I'm getting to start my collection is Cochrane (SGC 60), Harnett (VG), Cronin (FR-GD) and Lindstrom (FR).

...are the cards shaped like that because they were distributed with sticks of butter?

Not butter. They were distributed by the Buttercream Confectionary Corp out of New Jer. I forget, but I believe they were packaged with a cookie of sorts. I used to know this, but age is creaping in I guess.

Has long been housed in our collection of ultra-high grade type cards.

The sample we have is a PSA 7 of Cronin, the only R-306 ever
to acheive this grade from the hobby's leading grading authority.

We were unable to post a scan due to technical difficulties. Would
be happy to send scans to those collectors who wish to view
this pose of Mr. Cronn.
