Default R308 Tattoo Orbit Size Variations

Are there any R308 experts out there? I just picked up my second one of these, and it is much smaller than my first. My first one, Gomez, measures 1 3/8 x 2 1/8. The new one, Averill, measures 1 1/8 x 1 7/8. At first I thought the Averill was trimmed, but the picture and lettering are smaller than on the Gomez, so I think it is in its original size. Also, neither one has the same dimensions as listed in the Standard Catalog. Any thoughts? Do these come in all kinds of different sizes?

Paul,

I thought the exact same thing. I have two that are sized like yours and I think there is a jumbo version which is significantly larger. I think Leon has one (Foxx maybe?). I also thought my smaller one was trimmed until I noticed the lettering was also smaller sized.

There are two types for r308 with three known players for the type II (the larger if the two). While type I are hard to find the type II are very hard to find

Felada,

I'm thinking there might be three sizes.

My take on these is that the Type 1s could come in a number of different sizes....not entirely sure why but these don't seem like the sort of cards that people would trim. Here are some of mine

Default R308

There are 2 different size R308s. The regular and then the ones that are much larger. (approx. 2 x 3 1/2, but check me on that size) Until a few years ago it was thought that only Foxx (as shown) was known in larger size. Then a board member showed a Martin of the larger size (see link). Ths Gomez is probably one of the larger ones and it might have been trimmed. It has been said to exist but I am not sure I have seen one. It looks like His portrait is much larger than one that would be on a smaller size card. At least that is the way it looks to me from the scan. I have seen 2-3 large Foxx's in over 15 yrs and only 1 Martin. And I just checked Old Cardboard which does mention the larger sized ones...
