Thanks for posting this Leon. He makes a point at the beginning that I hadn't ever really thought about. He said the Salvation Army used to often get collections of cards that mothers had cleaned out. Can you imagine going into the Salvation Army and finding stacks of tobacco cards! He says that rarely happens anymore (in 1937). That would be an amazing treat to say the least.

I see the 19th century "die cut" cards listed as possibly part of a game. Are RandS the only die cut baseball player cards of the 19th cen? Were they part of a game? Oh by the way I happened across a wooden cigar box of about 200 t cards in 1987 at a junk shop....."finds" are/were still out there. dave

Y-95 Scrapps were also made in the 19th century.
