The paper loss on the back should have kept it from grading any higher than a 2.

Well, haha, originally I had "Unfortunate coincidence" in the title, but figured I'd let someone else make the connection. It's obvious that he is more likely to sell terribly misgraded cards, due to the volume of items he lists, but still --- it sure seems like there are way too many of these cases.

PSA of course is probably the most guilty in this situation, regardless if it was a "mistake" or if a grader gave a friend a friendly grade.

I just don't understand because, I clicked on it, and immediately noticed it not in the larger scan provided by the good ol' zoomer, but in the small picture seen on the description page.

So, either the PSA grader looked at the front and front alone, doesn't know anything about grading a card, or was helping someone.

You must've missed #6 from the "PSA Card Grading Process Revealed" discussed in this thread.

I'll quote .....

Quote:
6) Graders look at the back of every card. - False.
When a card is evaluated by a grader, they may or may not choose to physically look at the back of the card. Many people are under the false impression that collectors actually care about the back of the card. Nothing could be further from the truth. Some do, some don't. Most graders can tell by feel if the back of a card needs further examination. Many times the front of the card will give the grader clues that they may want to visually look at the back of the card. The grader's sense of touch, not to mention the daily quota of cards to be graded, are much more crucial than physically looking at each card's reverse.

Default probably 1.5 to a 2

That E91 is a solid 20 and maybe a 30 since it's so nice on the front. I do like the sense of humor in Joe's original statement...to quote

"5) Graders are Heartless Robot Minions Who Have Been Sent from the Future to Kill Your Submissions and Sarah Connor - Partially True - Kidding"
