Show me some of your team cards, I'm just starting to collect them. Only have these 3 so far. How did that SGC 40 get in there.

1909 Santa Ana All Stars - with Walter Johnson (card came from Walter Johsnon's estate)

1908 York ND RPPC with a link to some great info about the town and the people pictured...
Pretty good team in those parts - 27 wins. Must have been great town rivalry baseball back then.
(not bigger than the Walter Johnson postcard - just a bigger scan)

2 minutes apart Jerry! I thought that was what happened, and thank you.

Steve, you can see where the owner before me had it nailed in a frame. Over the years the nails wore holes where the premium warped a bit. It is is sad shape. But after a lengthy listing of its faults it is still a pretty neat card, Jackson standing tall on the left, Lajoie on the far right, as far from manager Stallings as he could get (or was Stallings last in the photo?)... Imagine taking over as manager for a team, and the team is named for the star player-manager whom you're replacing, and he remains on the team as a player...

I wonder if Joe gave a rat's ass that Nappy lost his ranking or were they loyal teammates during Joe's tenure. That picture does provoke a lot of questions. The doggy adds a nice touch as well.

*This is a 1913 Fatima cigarettes baseball card of the Cleveland Naps, Joe is standing second from the left. Note the dog in the center of the picture, he was owned by Jack Graney (seated fourth from the left, front row), a very good friend of Joe's... The dog was known to run out of the dugout during the games and run down foul balls and sometimes even run down balls in play... Needless to say the mascot was a fan favorite in Cleveland.* source, Blackbetsy.com

The Naps and pup out for a cruise in Joes' tin lizzy.
