Default At least slightly alterial motives

Posted By: David

I was advised that I would be allowed to post again, as long as I cut down on the dumb comments. Actually, that's not true. It's knowledge that if I removed all my mispellings and dumb comments, there would be nothing left but gossamer.

This is just to note, that I put up on eBay two things of note: a pair of Ray Caldwell 1915 Federal League-related handwritten letters (I still have to post a closeup of the signatures, but will do that later today).

I also put up the long awaited (it took me a week and a half to write! The first three days to write, the the next 9 for spell checking, the next day deciding whether or not my name should be bigger than the title on the cover, the last day finding cover paper big enough for my name to fit, the last day spell checking my name. The closest my spell check allows is 'Avid Crud', but who am I to argue?) 'News Service Photographs' by Avid E. Crud booklet. This is a small informational booklet concerning, wirephotos, file photos, et al. It is intended as a practical guide for collectors-- identifying originals, vintage non-originals, later generation images, understanding stamping, tags, production marks, how to identify photos more common than others, etc. News service photographs is a complex and mystifying area-- in my opinion more complex than, say, 19th century cabinet cards or tintypes--, and have no doubt that most to all readers will learn that much of what they thought about this area was incorrect. For example, did you know a wirephoto can't be an original? ... I will offer by after the weekend the booklet off eBay, to those who contact me directly.

I think he is on to something I just don't know what. Maybe it's some ancient vintage card code book that needs decoding.

Damn the smilley page is gone.

Typical. I finally use a spell check, there isn't a single mispelled word and I still catch the heat. Just because of that, I've raised the price to heaven heaven nifty wee dog hairs.
