Default What it's all about...

I don't post very often and read when I can but I thought many of you might appreciate this. I coach my sons 9U Major baseball team here in Iowa. As our season is leading up to the state tournament this weekend I cancelled practice last night and had the boys over to my house. We watched Field of Dreams together as a team, ate pizza, and then went out in the backyard.
I asked the boys to bring over their favorite baseball card and tell the team about it. After they all went around the horn I shared with them some of my favorite Pre-war cards, showed them the T206 collection book and the 5 I am missing, then pulled out the Wally Pipp card and shared his story.
These boys were hanging onto every word as you could tell some of them had never really thought about the cards they owned or had the opportunity to see other cards other than present day.
One of the moms took this picture of me and my team. For me, it doesn't get any better than this. Thought I would share this as it hopefully brings back memories of youth in some and what this hobby is truly about.
Happy Friday. On to state...

Thanks for sharing Aaron and good luck at state.
This brings back memories of when I was collecting at a young age and how fun it was to pull your favorite players and trading with friends.

Man that's great. Could you imagine the impact on the hobby we love if every guy on this board did something similar? Trying to figure out an approach for myself right now.

That's awesome. So much for the demise of the hobby.
