Default Just OurType

As someone who began seriously collecting more than 35 years ago (1977)
it has been fascinating to see how infrequently certain type cards appear
in auction.

Above and beyond the legendary Fans Cigarettes, it is rare to see high grade examples of (a) N 175 Gypsy Queens (b) Kalamazoo Bat Team Cabinets;
(3) High grade T 208 Fireside T 213- 4 color as well as high condition Boston Garters (our favorite)

What do you consider to be the most difficult type card to obtain for your collection? Also would be interested in rare, high grade and difficult to find baseball (player or team endorsed) post cards.

Look forward to your comments

Been looking for a very strong T214 for sometime, they come up low grade but not mid-to high grade all that often. Same with T215 Pirate.

It seems like there are "finds" of almost everything nowadays. The (espcecially) T231 and T214s have stayed elusive so far. T214s can be had but, you are right John, they just don't come up in mid-high grade too often. I have had these below for approximately 5-10 yrs.

To answer Bruces question though, D351 and D355 have eluded me so far....the quest continues.

I apologize if my question was taken for anything other than the question it was- I spent a good amount of time last night reading through Lew Lipset's Volume 3 just to see if I had missed something before regarding T-213.....my question was legit, and I wasn't trying to cause a problem with Bruce, or anyone else.

Anyhow, good luck hunting Bruce, I hope you find the items you are searching for.

Sincerely, Clayton

Clayton- As far as I am aware there are only T213-1 thru T213-3. I guess you could have the overprinted T213-3 be a type 4 but that would be making something up. Burdick's ACC only has T213 and goes on to say there are 2 types. Over time we have put the -1,-2,-3 onto them but Burdick didn't differentiate with any hyphenated numbers. Hope this helps.

Default tobins

I have been collecting 1887 Tobin Lithographs for some time now. I have the full set in color as well as the much more difficult black and white set. The third set, have the number 149 in the lower left hand corner, are almost impossible to find.

Default My mistake

Thanks everyone for pointing out the error.

The actual four color cards to which I was referring was T 209 series one.
With the exception of one hoard of PSA 7 and PSA8 which was sold as a group,
almost all of the available cards are ungraded or very low.

Love to hear about a PSA 7 or PSA 8 example should it cross your path.

Thanks

Thanks Leon and Bruce, makes sense now.

Nice black and white Tobin's, I like those. I've actually never seen the black and white ones, thanks for showing those matty39 !!

Sincerely, Clayton
