Default A question about consigning to auction houses

Hi,
I am considering consigning to auction houses but have a question about where they get thier cut from. Do they only take the BP or do they also take from the final price? Any help is appreciated,
Thank You,
Dan

Often they take some of the final price too, but if you consign enough $$ value, they will often waive their cut of the final price.

It's all dependant on how much your card will sell for. If it's under $1k some houses will charge you a consignment fee, but if your card is over $50k (rough estimate) some will give you 105% of hammer price. Most of the money comes from the BP. Best of luck

I believe that B&L Auctions has only a buyer premium with no consignment fee so you get the full hammer price.

Dan, what made you change your mind about collecting? From the emails we've exchanged over a year or so, you have quite a collection...I'll shoot you an email and maybe you can help me fill out some holes in my collection.

Actually I'm not stopping collecting, especially the HOF RC Auto's, but I have a 1965 Topps set signed that I am working on (so far have 510/598) and am looking into some questions I had about consigning to auction houses since I have never consigned before. Also, still shoot me an email since I am getting in some very nice HOF RC Auto's soon,
Dan
