I requested one also. I have a day off tomorrow, and if it comes today, I could see myself reading basically the whole thing too in one sitting.

Couldn't figure out why I had a delivery from FedEx but no mistaking what it was once I picked up the box.

Got to say a total class act sending this to me as I have never placed a bid in any of the auctions but love to receive the catalogs to dream, drool and use as reference.

Thumbs up to REA.

Default Rea

Noticing the word on the cover, I wonder how many people fax in their bids nowadays?

Best,

Default REA Arrived Today for Me as Well.

The "Christmas Catalog" arrived for me today too! I love reading and using it for a resource. There are so many great items in it! I would love to own many things.
Unfortunately for me, after waiting weeks and weeks in anticipation for what E98 tresures that the auction might hold, I am so disappointed and saddened to see that not a SINGLE E98 is available in this year's auction! It is like getting lots of cool stuff for Christmas as a kid, but never getting the thing that you REALLY WANTED! It's Ralphie not getting his BB gun....except worse, there isn't an E98 hiding in the corner waiting to be discovered like Ralphie's gun.

Their selection or I should say non selection of T205's this yr is horrible. Probably wont pop off a single bid.

Sorry Tim. If it's any consolation, there are 3 E94 lots including 2 overprints. Kind of stinks that what you collect is one of the few holes in this year's offering.

Seems like this might be the least interesting REA memorabilia-wise in a long time...at least no one on the memorabilia side is even discussing this auction when in the past there used to be just as much anticipation there as there was over here on the card side.

Default Disappointing for me, but it might be awesome for others

Matt,
This year's auction is disappointing to me because there is nothing from one of the major sets that I collect, but if you collect T206s, T210s, etc. WOW what a selection to choose from! It is kinda like going to a show, a card shop, or The National. If you find a bunch of stuff that you collect, then it is the greatest show that you have ever been too! If you don't find anything that YOU are interested in, then the show stinks But, it is still cool to look through everything.

Oh, Chuck on the smell, my wife won't let me read the catalog in bed next to her at night, because the smell of the printing makes her ill!

+1 on the lack of a "really cool" Lajoie card or piece of memorabilia.

Default REA Catalog delivered

My REA Catalog touchdowned in Nashville, TN this morning at 8am from the FedEx courier. The Mid-South is represented...

By the way, Tim - I feel your pain on the E98's, as much to my chagrin, there are no T211's either.

Mine showed up today and WOW, what a selection! This having been my first consignment of an item to REA or any other auction house, is it typical for the bidding to slow or stop after only a few days of the opening? Does it normally pick up again toward the closing days?

Still no book. Maybe because I didn't bid last time, they ignored my request last month, or its just delayed. I like to have it to read and for reference.

Yes, and yes - on the closing day, especially in overtime.

Cheers,

Arrived in Nebraska today! The catalog must have gone to print pretty late because I referred a guy who had a rare Nellie Fox pinback to REA and it was already two weeks past the catalog deadline and it still made it into the catalog.

Greg

South Beach?

I was raised in Kendall in 70's and 80's(close to Miami Dade South).

We went to South beach for sun during day and clubs at night. Were you there when CLUB 1235 and Club Nu was there(in 80's)?

Memories of the 836, Miami Serpentarium, US 1, Youth Fair, Dadeland Mall.

First T206 at the Tropical Flea Market(LONG GONE).

Hey Tony,

FYI - I believe the USPS is handling the first leg of the shipping, and then FedEx is handling the destination delivery point. (FedEx SmartPost Service is a slower more economical service to regular ground shipping)
