If there weren't already enough things for you to covet in the upcoming auctions, Memory Lane just posted their items for their solid auction that begins this month:

I saw this card in a pic in PSA's piece of junk SMR today.

Isn't this quite the controversial issue? I forget who was originally selling it, and how it could have been slabbed by PSA.

As both the slab and the auction listing disclose what was done to the card, I don't see any controversy.

It is well documented and I have no issue at all with the way it's being sold. The card is not for me but if I were a die hard rookie HOF collector it could be.....I also don't have any issue with PSA holdering it the way they did....Others may disagree ....regards

Part ballplayer/part actress.

Maybe I'll see if I can merge some of my old Star Wars cards with pre-war HOFer gum cards...

It's not like Jesse's bloomers and parasol are showing. I see no issues with the card or the full disclosure.

I just forget where I've seen it before, and whether or not it was sold or pulled from the auction. It's an interesting piece, but not as nice as the Cy Young pics I've seen.

Especially when compared to REA, I find some of Memory Lane's descriptions funny, such as:

"BUY ME!!!!!"

Whenever I'm buying a Just So Tobacco, I like to make sure it's flawless, so I'll be taking a pass on this one.

BTW, when is it going to be up for bidding? The site states 4/21 at 1:00 EST.

Cat, you seem a bit anxious about the start of this auction. Are there any mid-grade incredibly rare multi-sport superstar cards you're interested in? Just curious.

I always pegged you as a Bo Jackson card fan.

PS -- That is one of the sickest cards. Ever.

Anybody have any extra Neon Deon cards? (BTW, I saw the advertisement for his new reality show. Man his wife is hot. I'm glad we have a new reality show to watch. We were definately one short!)

That card in that condition is pretty sick...only thing sicker would be "with coupon."

BTW, that other card in REA, that we discussed, has slipped off my want list. To much other good stuff right now.

Cat- there are quite a few auctions these days, don't you think?

And I agree, we need some more high quality reality shows, a la "Gene Simmons Family Jewels." Now there's one that will get my attention.

I have no idea what Jeff and Darren are talking about, but I am surprised the Just So Burkett is being sold once again. Even though it is a combination of two different cards, I thought it might still be appealing to 19th Century or RC collectors.

Darren has one of the most active retirements going on ever. It's like when my then girlfriend dragged me to Elton John's farewell tour -- in 1988. I liked Darren better when he was "active" in the hobby. Much easier to go up against him in auctions than in his retirement phase.

Dang guys!! I REALLY did mean to retire!!!

Sometimes I'm not sure if this is a hobby or a sickness, but you gotta admit there is a ton of good stuff right now. I just can't turn my back on some of these cards.

Cat, you need to take your retirement one day at a time. Wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and repeat "I have not bought a card in days." You'll see, it will get easier as the days go on (and when there aren't 12 auctions going on simultaneously).

PS -- If that card had a coupon...can you imagine? Second mortgage time.

Jeff - it might be second mortgage time even without the coupon - the one that sold in Hunt looks like used toilet paper next to this one.

I noticed that Cat removed the "(Ret)" from his logon symbol.

Quoting Jason L: "Maybe I'll see if I can merge some of my old Star Wars cards with pre-war HOFer gum cards..."

You could have fit another joke about Honus Wagner's "wad of Chewbacca" in there somewhere!
