Default Philadelphia Athletics Photos

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has any idea on origins of the attached photographs? Based on the uniforms I was figuring the Simmons to be taken in 1927 and the Cochrane to be taken in 1928. The backs are completely blank so wondered if these were meant for newspapers or magazines? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Image on the right is same as his ‘33 Goudey card image, which is a known press photo. Hard to say much about what you have there without seeing in person.

Excellent! Thanks so much Andrew. Good info in that article. I never got into the old cards so I had no idea. Appreciate your input!
