Here's another one for T206Collector and his library. The label says that this card is the "AWAITING PITCH" version. It is actually the "Portrait with Facsimile Autograph" version. Perhaps PSA thought it was a rare card of Jackie as a catcher, thus the "AWAITING PITCH" designation.

That's actually a football. PSA must not be aware that Jackie was also playing football for the Brooklyn Dodgers of the AAFC. He must have forgotten his helmet.

...but the best examples are the ones where a casual observer knows immediately that something is very wrong here. That is, a mistake even a monkey wouldn't make.

My best guess is that, somewhere, there's a "Awaiting pitch" card that is labeled "portrait with fac. signature."

Such a shame.
