Default My Louisville 1898 Team Photo from Guide. Reach or Spalding?

Hello everyone I won this about a month or so ago on ebay and I was wondering if it came from the 1899 Reach guide or the 1899 Spalding guide. It looks more like the format for the reach guide but I do not know for sure. I bought the 1899 team photo on ebay from a 1900 guide and paid about 15.00 dollars for it. This photo however cost me about $50.00 I was surprised by this a bit considering it was taken from a damaged guide but I guess it just takes two people who want it to drive up the price. I love the photo as it has dummy hoy in it and Wagner in his first full season. Info is always appreciated.

Tony

Edited - never mind. I had a couple of photographs mixed up.

Here's the Louisville photo from the 1898 Spalding Guide, if that helps.

Default Thanks for the post

Thanks for the post. I would love to snag that photo down the road also. I am pretty sure it is a reach photo but I figured someone on the board would know. The back side of this photo is a photo of the 1898 New York team.

The 1898 Louisville photo is on page 32 of the 1899 Spalding Guide.

Those team photos are from two different years, I think that yours is a Spalding photo. I had one at one time but sold it last year.

Default Reach perhaps

It looks like the pic format for the reach guide so it may have come from a 1899 reach guide instead of the spalding guide from 1899.

I already posted where the photo came from. Why are people still guessing?
