Default Honus Wagner on a Budget

The only member of the first HoF class I don't have is Honus Wagner, so why not look into getting one. However, which one(s) should I be targeting?

Are the Barker/Polo Grounds game cards widely accepted by collectors? Is the Colgan's Chips "card" better than the former? Should I look to spend a bit more for an E92 or E95?

Interested to hear y'alls thoughts.

The cheapest Wagner you will get is the Fatima team Pirates card with him on it. I believe its the only other tobacco card of him, but I'm not positive.

What do these run price wise in a 1 or 1.5?

I typically really like cards from the Tom Barker/National Game sets, but I always have winced when viewing the Wagner from them...just a really awkward looking fielding pose. My affordable choice from the OP's original choices would be the E254 Colgan Chip card, because it has the nice 'T206' photo portrait, and no need to worry about corner wear.

With "the" Wagner being a bit out of my price range, here are some of my more affordable (with at least one being arguably as rare) examples :

I think if it's the only HOFer missing from the first class, that's a nice accomplishment and you should reward yourself and spend a little extra for the E92 or E95! Those are two really cool looking cards..

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't think this wins me a contest with a reward that would give me the necessary amount of money to go after either of those. Haha.
