Default Auction Loser Sour Grapes

To Whomever Beat Me For The Signed 1915 Cracker Jack Marquard Last Night:

I guess you should be congratulated, but really... What were you thinking? You just paid $2,700 for a Rube Marquard autograph. I'm pretty sure you broke the record. Are signed CJ's rare? You bet. There are only a few known, but guess what... Three of those are Marquards, and this one isn't even the best example. Also, you should know that no one was willing to bid more than $1,200 for this card than me. That's right... The only bidder bidding into your outrageous ceiling bid was me. So, if and when you try to sell this beauty, you had better hope I am still interested. And since I just paid $100 for a signed M101-2 Marquard -- the only one known -- I think I'll probably just sit that one out.

In closing, I want to say that I hope you enjoy your latest cardboard treasure, and appreciate it half as much as I would have, which I am certain will be at least twice as much as you will. Fortunately, I am now $2,500 richer, and can put that money toward some pretty sweet cards.

All the best,
Sour Grapes Underbidder

p.s. Feel free to email me if you ever want to sell it or trade it.
