Default Chalk Statue

I have had a statue similar to this one for a few years and was wondering if anyone could give me information about it. It was made by the Mamito Co in 1907 per notations on the base. It sure looks like Christy Mathewson. I have seen only a couple at auction in the past decade. I believe there is also a catcher? Is it a rare item?

If you "have a similar one to this one", why don't you post a pix of the one you actually have?

I don't have a photograph of mine. The one I posted was from REA.

Paul- What horse do you have in this race? It makes no difference which image is posted. I'm just trying to learn something more about the statue.

You say you have a statue similar to a picture of a statue that you post, but you don't post a picture of the actual statue you have. Wouldn't you have better luck finding out about your statue if you posted an actual picture of the one you have?

The only info your going to find out about posting a different statue is most likely about the different statue not yours. Plus you mentioned the one you posted was in REA, didn't they give a good detailed description?

Paul- It's not my style to get into a discussion where there is no apparent reason to do so. This is my last word on your, seemingly, unnecessary parsing. If anyone else has anything positive to post, I welcome their input.

Flip phone picture. I realize it is not very sharp, but it's is the best I can do with my limited technology. I hope this helps keep the peace.

Should have on the back 1907 The Philadelphia Grist (?) CO and a number 501 etc if so it is worth about $3,000 give or take. If it is not marked then it is a 1950's repo worth about $400-500

But does it have the original markings Jim alluded to?

That's the main criteria in determining value. I believe it's a generic piece, and is not player-specific. I doubt anyone here can shed any more light than Hunts and REA did (in their respective descriptions).

Great Figural piece!

The statue has all the markings except the 501. The Hunt piece has the 501. I am unsure if the REA examples have it or not.

Default Great Statue

Gary, It's a fantastic statue...and very rare...like you I've only seen it offered a few times...Interesting It was made by the Mamito Co...I don't know anything about that company off hand...never seen any other statues by them I can recall...

I have never seen a reproduction of it...there is one a little similiar that I have seen reproductions of seen in the link below
