Default 1911 vs 1912 Zeenuts Population

Posted By: Anonymous

I collect cards of a particular player (Frank Miller) and have been able to aquire 8 of his 1911 Zeenut cards but have not come across any of his 1912 cards. I have a scan of the 1912 that someone was nice enough to send me, so I know it does exist. My question is if there was a difference in the number of Zeenut cards printed between 1911 and 1912. If so, did it vary by player, or just the number of sets produced. Thanks.

Some of us are trying to complete sets of Obaks and Zeenuts and suchlike-- no wonder there aren't any Millers around-- how many of each card do you need anyway??

no one has any idea how many were made of each, but the 1911 cards are the most common of the first few Zeenuts issues. The '12s are pretty tough but are also desirable because the image field is larger and the cards are more attractive to collectors overall.

You see more 1911 Zeenuts than 1912s, but on the other hand if you are trying to collect the master set of 1911s there are tons of variations in that set which make it much, much tougher (not to mention collecting the Buck Weaver card).
