This may be a good post now

Does the R309-2 Lester R. Bell exist???
From what I read over in the B/S/T, someone said the Bell in the SCD checklist doesnt exist...... ??? Is the set complete at 15 or 16 different?
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=102947

Does anyone have a Bell or know of one? Just curious

I dont actively collect the set but have owned a few examples over the years. Tough without pinhole or tape damage.

Default I'm skeptical

I don't think it exists. I was talking to an old-time collector of 1930s cards (whose name has now escaped me) and he was fairly certain it didn't. Obviously it's hard to prove a negative, and someone may post a scan of one two minutes after I post this, but I think there's a lot of room for doubt that it exists.

Bell is not in the set. He played his last game in 1931, several years before the set was issued.

Would tend to agree. It's the only one I have needed for my "set" for awhile now and I have never seen a copy confirmed nor for sale.
