Default Anyone know this person??

He's selling a lot of high-dollar stuff but the feedback scares me. It also appears that this Cobb has a bad bottom edge.

Look at some of the other cards he has for sale; 1933 Goudey Ruth #144 and #149, 1948 Leaf Ted Williams and 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle.

Any time I see a combination of these cards together, I am skeptical. Three or more and I am almost 100 % positive they are fakes.

Also, there could be shill bidding going on because some of the auctions are being bid on by "NEW" eBay members. Specifically, two that have "redsox" in their name. Both are from Canada and both registered with eBay within 9 days of each other.

The seller has a grand total of HOW MANY feedbacks? Cobb and Ruth cards being sold by a 3 feedback seller can mean a few things:

STUPIDITY - the seller just doesn't know any better
IGNORANCE - the seller just doesn't know any better
DECEIT - the seller knows what's going on and hopes you don't

I'm not saying the seller is a fraud but this is how we either get great deals on ebay or we get screwed.

Are there many "feel good" stories out there? If so, as a buyer were you just a bit uneasy before it turned out to be that incredible deal from ebay that rarely happens?

Brian,

Wickliffe is pretty close to Cleveland. There was positive feedback on both sides of your transaction so it sounds like all was fine. Any comments? If it is the same person it would make you wonder why would someone would use a new account to sell a high end card, especially if they are ebay savvy.

Brian,

Without putting too many words in your mouth can I assume the following:

You won the card. You paid for the card. You received the card, found it to be trimmed and returned it for a refund. The seller gave your money back and you both left positive feedback for each other because other than the return portion, the transaction went smoothly.
