Default T205 Back Question??

I just picked up this Matty and was wondering how rare the Piedmont Factory 42 backs are. It seems they are very few and far between. Does anyone know the backstory behind this and are they as rare as I think??

Thanks! I saw that thread but it's several years old, I didn't know if there were any new takes on it. Also curious why the Piedmont 42's are so scarce in both the T205 and T206 sets.

I don't think the site has been updated in a while but you may find some info on here. The checklist is helpful.

In another old thread Ted Z explains that the factory 42 designation is related to the breakup of the american tobacco company.

Yes Pied 42 backs are tough. The Matty is a very tough FB combo. Pied 42's have greatly increased in price over the last 5 yrs and have become scarce. This was once not the case and if you haven't been tracking and buying these since then it's a real gamble as to what Pied 42's are really scarce and not just bought up by some crazy back hoarder.

Be cautious the path you chose collecting T205's. It can go from recreational use to addition very quickly!!

BTW that card looks to be an A grade. I would highly question a numerical grade. FWIW.

Default Ahhhhh T205

The hypnotic gold border
All the variations
The Hall of Famers
The short prints
The addiction
Don't start, I promise you won't stop
Love this set. Hate that i am addicted to it. Less than 50 to go... Just missed a Cy Young. He is killing me

If he visits our site he will see names like Ruth, Gehrig, Wagner, Cobb, Johnson, Matty, Young etc....... Yes, there is more than Trout, Kershaw or Stanton. Not that those are bad guys to collect.....
