Default 1955 Ashland Oil Show and Tell

Finally got some decent scans of these 1955 Ashland Oil basketball finds I stumbled on about a year ago--I had never seen any of these cards still connected, much less still on the "hang-tags" which they were on in the gas stations, so needless to say I was happy.

Default Ashland/Aetna Oil

Wow...pretty nice stuff. I just picked up 36 Aetna oil cards at the National! Now I'm up to 51 total. I'm always looking for more.

Pat,
I heard you were at the National, but I'm sorry that I missed meeting you.

Good to see your post, phil...if you ever come across a nice midgrade Charlie Slack to part with, let me know. Still looking, but the finding has been harder and harder.

Default The National

Hi Alan...

I'm sorry we missed each other too. It seems like I get consumed at that event. However, I'll make sure I'm better organized in Baltimore!

Take care,

Pat

Default Should I separate these or leave them be?

Anyone think I should separate them, or should I leave them in their natural state?

Pat,

Would love to see some scans of your pickup when you get them in. Congrats, tough set to complete and you are making good headway.

Phil

Definitely keep those cards hooked together. I think it is important to preserve that part of the hobby when possible.

Todd,

I am keeping my eye out for Charlie Slack. . . haven't had much luck with the West Virginia/Marshall players since I picked up the above-posted cards. Hope all is well with you.

Phil
