I'm looking for a few issues from 1896. Are these available? Or is my best bet a library or the Hall of Fame or...? Thanks for any help.

If you're looking for hard copies there are dealers who have 'em.

If you're doing research, your best bet is:

http://www.paperofrecord.com/search_paper.asp?PaperId=834

Their Sporting News run starts in 1886. You'll have to pay a fee to join, but you can download to your heart's delight, I think....

BULLETIN!! I just logged in after not using for years...it's FREE!!!

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, they did not have the issues I am looking for. Anyone know any dealers of this type of material?

As far as I can see, they have every 8-page issue for the year 1896. The "search"
feature on the site is not quite robust. Keep trying. Also, the quality of the output ain't great.

But it's all there. And it's free. If you want help, shoot me a line.
