Default Detroit Ty Cobb era Bar/Tavern find

Not sure why, but I love this recent find. It's just a mirror, but if you look at the back you will see. And I have no reason to doubt its authenticity, so hoping it is.

Faded, but readable on the back:

"This Bar Supports Our Detroit Base Ball Club" and then a Tiger logo, also very small at the bottom is Detroit USA.

The glass/mirror is extremely heavy, and there is some areas of silver loss, the Stroh's logo on the front and Detroit at the bottom etched on the beveled glass.
Approx 26-1/2 x 16-1/2.

I think the words Base Ball as opposed to one word Baseball dates this to 1900-1910 time period.

Found this article on old baseball related taverns, some from the dead ball era, and just find that an item surviving from this time period is amazing. And thinking this hung in
some Detroit bar where fans would come in after a Tigers game and discuss the greatest player who ever played (arguably) and the game he had that day over a few beers is
pretty cool.

I love it, but if there is a Detroit fan out there with a killer man cave / memorabilia room / bar room send me a message, I'd part with it to get it closer to its original home,
or someone who would really appreciate it.

Actually there is a very small faded 1910 at the bottom now that I'm looking at it in the morning light. So that answers the time frame.

Cool Paul, and I agree thinking back to the times when this was in use in a bar is very cool.

That is such a cool piece.

What is the backing of the mirror made from? I ask because I wonder why they put that stamp or whatever it is where it would never be seen. I wonder if it was some sort of Macguyvered replacement backing?

Thanks you guys.

I'm not sure on the backing, to me its just red paint or a red backing on the glass, or however they apply the mirror (silver) part to the back of the glass. So if you were to scratch the red backing that's the mirror portion, you'd chip pieces of the mirror off, as it has been done in some spots.

So I don't think any MacGyver-ing was done. But who knows. With the Detroit on the front as well as 2 spots on the back, pretty safe to assume this is all original.

Yah I personally am displaying it backwards for now as I like to look at the Detroit Ball Club messaging part. Those pix are from the seller, I'll give a shot at the lower back part tonight, but not sure if it will show up with a cell phone pix.
