Default Don't people know how to use ebay search?

Just going through recently sold BINs and saw that this PSA Authentic Bill Bergen Batting went for $34:

Two days earlier, someone else got a PSA 2 for $26.50 (including shipping):

What are these people thinking?

Proof that higher BINs work. Some lazy collectors only search BINs.

While I am inclined to support the "lazy collector" theory, in this case I think we have a buyer who is both lazy and uneducated -- probably a non-collector who read about Craig Counsel's futility and Bill Bergen's record in the paper or saw it on the Colbert Report and went trolling through ebay.

We should have a trivia question/game--what is the highest price fo a beater common with no special back, cut, color, etc., ever reached in a clean and straight auction? $34 probably doesn't take the cake, but it has got to be in the running.
