Default eBay T206 raw individual auction - all appear normal?

Have any of you noticed the set of T206 (almost complete) sold on eBay yesterday (1/30) afternoon, continuing today and into next weekend? All raw, individually listed - Seller: Littlebird2 All look to be authentic, VG to EX condition, sharp vivid colors and seemingly well-kept.

Here are scans of a couple still on the board, you can click on others he/she has or recently sold ..

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1910-T206-Wi...oAAOSwvUlWrlcy

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1910-T206-Mc...cAAOSwGotWpoya

Here's my question - something isn't quite adding up for me. Nice cards, appear authentic, I can't see a trigger that would lead me to believe reprints? They are using that linen look scan texture (see scans closely), so you wonder if/what else is possibly enhanced, no returns, very little description (most say "see scans" and that's it) and not noted authentic, afternoon auctions (not ideal), bids have been through the roof on some, generally high on most - even if they did grade out 4 to 5. 100% feedback, so that's good/doesn't lend to suspicion - but I'm not sure they have a history of T206 buys/sales either and none of their cards are graded.

I'm not saying something is wrong here, I may be way off .. just something not altogether right to me either. Curious any of your thoughts / observations?

Looks like they were scanned in penny sleeves, no obvious red flags on the few I looked at.

The Specs state Original not a reprint, so although returns are not accepted, the item would still be covered under the e-bay money back guarantee.

Oh, for sure .. I guess when you see nice looking raws sold individually, no reserve, few notes and no returns - you just wonder if all is as it seems.

Agreed. I too was wondering how, where, and why on these. Then I took a closer look and you can tell that they were scanned in a casing of some sort. A lot of very nice cards. It does appear as though someone is clearing house.

I agree they are authentic. That said in my opinion they are at best authentic, I believe each has been trimmed. Most of the trimming at the top as you can see the rounded corners in most cases don't continue naturally to the top edge as they have been truncated by the trimming.

Could be from an old school collector considering everything is graded about 2 grades higher than it really is. This seems to fall in line with the old raw graders that "graded" cards before PSA and others.

Saw them. Was shocked at most of the ending prices based on their condition.

I won one of them on Saturday at a reasonable price.

I admit I only looked at the scans on my phone and I thought it looked fine.

Just looked again and the borders - all appear normal size. I don't believe it looks trimmed or fake. The bottom border "may" be a little wavy, but it could very well be the scan.

I'll know for sure in a few days (assuming it doesn't sit in some post office for a week - as has been the case all too often lately)

Most of the ones he calls "EX+" are pretty much VG or VG+.

Were we really that bad at grading "back in the day"?

I think a decent percentage of them look trimmed, mostly along the bottom. But the majority seem unaltered. I remember this guy selling large groups like this in the past as well. I think they are nice cards from an old collection. And agree that his "EX" looks more like a VG+ to my eye.

I thought a few of them were trimmed as well. The eye appeal on those cards were simply amazing though. Lots of great color.

I agree with the sentiments that most are ok with some appearing short...Great color and nice condition overall. A few have nice centering too!!

I purchased several of these cards and received them rather quickly. I collect mainly portraits which are getting more difficult to find in nice condition lately. I measured all of the cards and none of them measured short. They are in route to SGC and I will post the results in about 3 weeks or so. Fingers crossed.
