Default Bill Dickey and Babe Ruth mini bats

Posted By: Bryan

I am going to sell these bats for a former player (Otey Clark). Just looking for a ball park estimate as to what they are worth. I have no experience with mini bats.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bryan

It's interesting that H&B made one of those bats for a one-season player (and a pitcher at that). Mr. Clark has to be in his early 90's by now. Is he still doing well?

Are they 16" or 22"

22" are the scarcest with 16" being the most common. Is the Clark a model 40 also?

Thanks for your input. I do not know how long the bats are. I will relay the estimates to Otey and see if he is interested in selling them. If so I will put them on ebay to get Otey a fair price.

Otey is doing fine. I spoke with him this morning. He is in his early 90's. Recently his wife and he celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Otey is listed as the 24th oldest living former professional baseball player.

If anyone is interested I believe he will be having me sell a couple of team signed baseball, two of which are from the 1953 Giants and the 1946 Louisville Colonels Little World Series champs team (haven't seen the balls yet). Hopefully the two bats above will be sold along with a Satchell Paige autograph. Every penny of the proceeds goes to Otey. Just doing this as a favor to him.

made hundreds, maybe thousands of bats...........the 14" are probably pre 1930 or so, the 16" have been made since and the 22" ones are from the 20's to present. The 22" bats are more scarce but don't usually command a higher price for some reason. I had, at one time, about 500-600 of them. Batsbyron is the undisputed heavyweight of minibat collecting on ebay. Love the 14" ones.
