Default Honus Wagner signed ball

Posted By: Marty Ogelvie

This Honus Wanger signed ball (PSA/DNA) did not sell on eBay for $50,000.00, at least it appears that it did not sell.

Does anyone have an idea what the value of an item like this is?  Has one sold recently?

Thanks in advance.

That asking price was absurd. This very ball sold for around $3,000 in a catalogue auction recently (less than 2 years ago).

A nice Wagner single-signed ball went for around $2,400 in a recent Mastro auction. His signature isn't really that rare, and this seller is not dealing in reality.

This seller should stick to what he knows, shiny cards in hard plastic cases.

Look at the rest of this guy's inventory? I don't know anything about shiny, but would I (or anyone here) really feel that a LeBron James signed card is really worth $17,000 or $4,000+ for a Chris Paul?

The seller has lowered the price to $30,000 on the Wagner ball.

I think Wagner's signature in ball form (especially single) is much tougher to find in authentic form than one thinks. Wagner's signature is a piece of cake to forge and I think a lot of good forgers are taking advantage of the ease to duplicate his signature.

My two cents.

DJ

For many Best Offer auctions, the sellers are anticipating offers and not expecting people to take the BIN. So the BIN price doesn't always reflect what the seller thinks he should get for it, and may be arbitrary.
