(14) Autographed vintage J.D. McCarthy Postcards. Each b/w picture postcard pictures the player and is singed in ink on the front. Includes Bobby Doerr, Goose Gossage, Dick Groat, Gene Green, Bill Freehan, Lou Klimchock, Gene Conley, Ray Culp. Cards have only minor edge wear, signatures are Near Mint to Mint. PCs date as early as the 1950s I got these directly from Mike Gutierrez …$63

Ten (10) 1930s Major League Baseball Players autographed contracts with Goldsmith & Drayper-Maynard. Standard 1 8x10” sheet signed in mint ink at bottom. Common players including Goudey players. Contracts have wear and tear including mail lines (contracts done via mail). One also signed by D-M’s President John E. Maynard. Display well, with contracts being a great source for authentic and vintage signatures … $95

Deceased Negro League Player Wilmer Fields brief signed handwritten letter on about 7x6” writing paper with his handwritten return address affixed to the bottom (total of 2 signatures). Mint handwriting, dated 1992. Fields was a 1939-50 star for the Homestead Grays and a triple crown winner in Venezuela. Unprecidented 8 time MVP in various leagues … $17

1956 silver plated small jewelry Box awarded to Philadelphia Warriors’ Coach George Senesky after Warriors won the NBA Championship. Senesky was an inaugural year NBA Player (Warriors) and a dedication with his name is engraved on the lid. Wear to the silver, presents nicely. Wood lined … $38

Baseball signed index cards. If I can I’ll unload a large lot (hundreds not thousands) that I purchased a few years ago from MastroNet. All different, all mint ink signatures. Pre-War to modern players, with the vast majority old-timers (Pre-War 50s 60s galore). No stars, but lots of deceased players and obscuritites. I’ll sell the entire lot for 50 cents per signature plus $6 shipping. Haven’t counted them up yet, so don’t know the total price. Selling as a single, entire lot only.

This is an image of a Dockman, but I can use this in a different type of back. The main thing is the pose, I need it in about a vgex by psa standards, but it does not have to be graded.

If you can help, please contact me at: gfg@gfg.com

Seamon was a legendary boxing trainer and his most famous student was Louis. Seamon is a character in the 1953 movie ‘The Joe Louis Story.’ The two were close, even long after Louis’ retirement. These candid photos show Louis while still an active boxer golfing, greeting folks, world tours, training, etc. These originate from the 1990 Guernsey Auction of the Seamon collection. The original Guernsey album for the photos and paper documentation of the sale is include. Also included is Seamon’s vintage and personal business card with his handwriting on the front. Unique and unpublished images.$55

(100 different) 1940s-60s College and NFL Football Photos from The Chicago Tribune’s library. Includes original photos and vintage wirephotos from United Press, ACME, AP and from the Tribune’s own photographers. Wide variety of great images of Oklahoma to Chicago Bears, Notre Dame to LA Rams. Each photo is from the year of the image (e.g. no 20 year later later generation photos passing themselves as original like you will find in the 'major' auctions). Measure about 9x7 to 8x10. Grade varies, averages about very good.$350

(50) 1950s-60s MLB Baseball player autographed contracts with MacGregor Sporting Goods. 8x11” sheets with mint ink handwriting. Each contract is signed on front and several have multiple signatures on back (these were sig samples for reproduction on gloves, etc). Some contracts have well over 5 player signatures. Contracts have heavy wear including tears and small missing chunks at top. Mostly common but well known MLB players, some from their rookie or Pre-years. Players also wrote in all their personal stats (age, address, throws, bats, etc). Some have the original MacGregor notes, including shoe size, glove type, etc.$255

(20) 1990s signed handwritten letters by 1940s-50s All-American Girls Pro Baseball League players. High quality selection with tremendous baseball and personal content. Many on personal or official AAGPBL stationary. Mint handwriting. The 8x6 to larger sheets have minor wear. $165

Baseball player’s personal business cards (19 w/3 dupes). Standard sized unsigned cards of Old Timers Russell Goetz (his card as MLB Umpire), David Hill, Bill Wright, John Welaj, Frank Sulivan, Lenny Yochin, W.T. Phillips, George Altman. Cards are for jobs with pro baseball teams (usually scouts) and normal non-baseball jobs (i.e, insurance salesman). Average Ex. These were owned by the players$38

Hall of Famers autographed trading cards (5): Carl Hubbell (1980s card), Bob Lemon (1980s card), Luke Appling (1980s card), Billy Williams (1973 Topps #200), Gaylord Perry (1984 Fleer #641 “Going out in style”). Sigs are on front. Appling sig is light, others are Mint. Cards have minor edge wear. I bought these from Mike Gutierrez.$35

Vintage original George Grantham Bain (d. 1941) photo of Bill Dineen posing stoicly in full umpire gear at the 1920 World Series. Strikingly unusual image. The back has Bain's stamp and the stamped date (Oct 4 1920). Postcard-sized, officially cropped (rough edge) at the time it was made. $35

(4) New York Yankees related signed handwritten letters with quality baseball content. Brief 1990s letters on 8x6” to smaller stationary. Letters from old timers John James (personal stationary), Spec Shea and Billy Hunter. Also a touching small letter from the wife of Cliff Mapes written after Cliff’s death. Mentions “his beloved Yankees” and Alzheimer’s plight. Handwriting is in mint ink, sheets average about very good with normal mailing folds. $50

1920s Philadelphia A’s Joe Hauser signed handwritten letter on 3x5” card and two signed pictures (3 autographed items). 1924 AL Home Run runner up to Babe Ruth, Hauser hit over 60 home runs twice in the minors including 69 for Minneapolis Millers. Written in Hauser’s 90s, the lucid and upbeat letter has great content as he talks about his old roommates (Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, Max Bishop), his home run exploits, booze and being old. And he fit it all on both sides of an index card (angels on a pinhead). The pictures are a modern standard sized postcard and a post-card sized cutout, both picturing him in 1924 A’s uniform. Signatures and handwriting are in mint ink.$40

(9 different) Baseball old timers signed bank checks from their personal accounts (most joint w/wife). Virgil Trucks, Oscar Gamble, Milt Pappas, Pedro Ramos, Ralph Houk, Steve Ridzik, Joe Ostrowski, Carden Gillenwater, Cal Abrams, Stuart Miller. Handwriting is in nrmt or better dark ink. The checks average very good with fold lines and typical stamping. On a few the stamping effects the signatures, but the sigs are still clear. $40

(2) Cuban baseball players autographed documents while players in the US Major Leagues … Orlando Pena 1967 8x11” business document that required his signature (mint ink signature, paper has variety of folds and staple holes at top). Document has his name and Florida address printed on it … Pedro Ramos signed 1970 personal bank check that lists his address simply as “Cincinnati Reds.” Mint signature touched by the bank stamp. The check has staple holes in one corner, otherwise Ex …. Both long 1950s-60s MLB careers.$23

“Harwell’s Greatest Game.” HOF Announcer Ernie Harwell 1991 brief signed handwritten letter on Detroit Tigers Stationary (except the Tigers logo/letterhead is on back). In gem mint ink handwriting, he reveals his all-time favorite game as announcer (‘My #1 game’): 1951 Bobby Thomson HR. Stationary has mailing folds and a minor stain away from the writing. This was born to be displayed with a Thomson HR photo.$12

1970s Baseball Team Team Christmas Cards signed inside by team officials: Cincinnati Reds signed by GM Dick Wagner and SF Giants signed by former manager Tom Sheehan. Vg cards with mint signatures. These were official-use cards sent to VIPs like major advertisers, other team execs, etc. They were not commercially available to the general public. Creative, jolly covers that incorperate the team name or graphics$20

(87) 1940s-50s women pro baseball players autographed All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Cards. All of the cards are recent issues, most by Larry Frisch. Wide range of popular women players including Dottie Kamenshek, Marilyn Jenkins, Betty Wagoner, Hellen Nordquist, Joanne McComb, Jeanie Marlow, Eileen O’Brien, Mary Moore, Wanita Dokish, Anne Georges, Marie Ziegler, Elizabeth Mahon, Sarah Lonetto, Rose Folder, Rose Gacioch, Ann Garman, Lou Erickson, Sophie Kurys, Terry Donahue, Ysora Castillo, Gloria Cordes, Faye Dancer, Edith Barney, Mary Baker and others. A little duplication of players. Obtained via mail by an advanced women’s baseball collector. Cards/signs present well.$305

The good news: daughter number two, Keira Margaret O'Connor (poor kid), is home happy and healthy. The bad news: well, you know the bad news:

1) Very rare Napoleon Lajoie "Tonneau" color advertising postcard. It's in VG+ condition with its beautiful gilt border intact. The card is postmarked 1909. $350.

2) 1929 RDM Studio photograph of Cubs catcher Johnny Schulte. He stands in the field in uniform holding a ball in his right hand. A beautiful image with the RDM Studio raised stamp. The entire piece measures 10" x 14". The image itself is 6" x 8 3/4". $400.

3) Eleven original 5" x 7" color photographs of the interior of abandoned Shibe Park, circa 1973. They come from a photo album, and each is adhered to the page by either glue or paste at the top of each image. I have found no copyright for the photos, and the new owner should be able to publish them (my original intent) without a problem. I'll provide two typical scans to interested buyers, but will not let the others loose on the net. These photos are unique and unreturnable, but anyone is welcome to view them in person. $500.

4) Lou Gehrig cut signature in framed display. The photograph shows Gehrig at bat. The signature is in excellent condition. The entire piece measures 12 1/2" x 18 1/2". I do not have a COA for the piece, but will happily return your money plus postage and any authentication fee if the signature is dubbed inauthentic by either GAI/Mike Gutierrez or Richard Simon (PSA/DNA is not acceptable). I bought the piece in 1999 for $550; you can have it for the same.

Everything except the Shibe photographs is returnable: just let me know within three days of receipt and you can send it back without excuse (your cost). The authenticity of the Gehrig signature is guaranteed for life (no matter who owns it). and I will pay authentication and postage fees if it's deemed inauthentic. Money order is preferred, but I will accept personal checks from board "regulars." Postage and insurance are included.

I want one that is gradable ... even if it gets a 1 ... which is why I did not buy the "trimmed" one in the Mastro auction.

If any of you know someone who wants some cash for theirs ... let me know.

I am putting an otherwise nice Ray Morgan (tough) card on ebay (no creases)which is so miscut it shows 3 cards! The other 2 are just the edges but a really unique card for those of you who collect these things. You rarely see this with T207s.

Hi all,

Recently upgraded on these two T212 Obaks and I'm offering them for trade:

1910 T212-2 175 series Greggs (Gregg), Portland P.C.L.- Fair-Good, has rounded corners, Creasing (mostly surface), 25% paper loss to upper back, "Convenient Sensible" back slogan.

1911 T212-3 Powell, S.F., PCL - Good, Rounding to corners, Crease to upper left and lower right corners, light surface creases, back stamp

I'm interested in 1910 and 1911 Obaks that I don't have or T210 Old Mill Red Borders (preferably series 3 Texas League) in like condition. You can view my Obak Want list at the link below.

http://hometown.aol.com/ajohnbaxter/myhomepage/index.html

Thanks!

P.S.: The T213 Thomas from my previous post has been sold, but all the other cards are still available. The Illustrated History of Baseball Cards by David Rudd, Cycleback Press, 1999 Vol. 1 (The 1800's) and Vol. 2(1900-1915). OUT OF PRINT, is also still available and the price has been reduced to 35.00 postpaid.

I have a autographed baseball for sale with 12 HOF sigs on it. Most of the sigs were collected at personal signings in Las Vegas years ago. The baseball is an ONL Bartlett Giamatti ball. They include: Spahn, Musial, Mantle, Wilhelm, Slaughter, Feller, Kiner, Kell, McCovey, Mize, Boudreau, and Snider on the Sweet Spot. I will back up any authenticating gaurantees. I am asking $400 OBO shipped and insured. If you are not happy I would refund no questions.

thanks
Jason

Hi folks,

My big National find is just up on ebay:

T207 Almeida SGC 60 Anonymous back

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5118112233&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

T207 Blackburne SGC 70 Cycle back

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5118112260&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

They're both great cards and have what I hope are reasonable BINs on them.

Good luck!

Tim

Any reasonable offer for the group or individual cards will be considered. Let me know if you'd like additional scans.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The E94s are really drying up. As a collector of them, I definitely know this to be true. Here are 3 E94s now on ebay in varying conditions, the Evers is sweet.

I'm selling a 1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson on eBay. It's in very good condition. In what seems to be implausable, this is one of a bunch of cards that were left to my father. He passed away last August, and we are all getting some of the cards. I know a little about them. I was seven when my father inherited them. I am also getting married next year, and am trying to make a few bucks.

This is a 1914 #103. The writing on the back of the card is right side up. I know the 1915's had upside-down writing on the back. (I already received 1 e-mail saying that this card is incorrect with the right-side-up writing on the back).

The other two cards I have are 2 t-206's Meyers and Geyer.

If anyone lives in the New Jersey area, and would like to inspect the card(s), please e-mail me.
