Board technical issues right now

Net54 is experiencing some technical issues right now. This isn't being caused by our particular forum(s) but it does affect them. It's a corporate Net54 issue. I just counted 6-7 Forum owners who have all complained today and yesterday....The message is:

"We're sorry. In order to make this service as fast as possible, we optimize forums from time to time. This forum is currently being optimized. This takes about 10 minutes. You can read messages in the mean time, and post when the procedure is complete. Goto forum home."


It is happening on our 50's-80's BST page right now. For the time being if you have cards in that era to post about go ahead and post them in the 20's to 40's section. Hopefully Net54 admin will hop on the issue soon....but so far there hasn't been a response from them, which is unusual. regards

Here is the message posted today on the Net54 help pages for Premier Owners: (it looks like it's fixed now)....*Our compensation back would be pennies based on downed usage relative to overall forum usage......







Dear Network54 Premier Forum Owner,

On Sunday morning at 2AM we run our servers through an optimization process that makes the forums run faster during the week. It is during this time that we will put certain forums (based on the last digit of their ID number) into a "read only" mode so that we can run the optimization process.

During this last optimization at around 3AM, a server ran out of disk space, which interferes with the optimization and brings the site to a halt. We're not sure why the server ran out of space (we normally have more than enough for the optimization process) and we are investigating that issue further.

Normal service for most forums was restored at 5AM Sunday morning Pacific time.

Unfortunately we did not unmark the forums currently being optimized, keeping them in read only mode for Sunday and for a good portion of Monday (and perhaps most of Monday depending on your time zone). Our alarms don't catch this issue so we weren't aware of the problem until Monday.

This issue affected all forums with IDs ending in 6, and we are putting notifications in place to check for this issue in the future.

We are sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused you and we will be notifying you with more information regarding compensation for you lost forum time soon.
