As an owner of a few retail stores for almost a decade my biggest issues were with employees. Now, in business, my motto is the fewer the better .

But as for finding a job, it's a job. Hang in there and keep looking.....they are out there if you really want one. I suggest taking a job just to have one and keep looking for a better one.

Why are you picking on Dan Uggla? He had a pretty good career and now it looks like its over. Just like lots of athletes ....

You're right, of course. Danny-O always made a big effort...at least he never blamed his difficulties on the umpire like B.J. does.

Both of them let their batting troubles effect their defense and Uggla's wasn't good to start with.

I just hate that the Braves are getting stuck with bad free agents and bad trades. Way too much money tied up...almost like they're a big market or something.

...while I'm ranting...I hate 'Slip' Carray!

I have said all along, Uggla and B.J. Upton are jokes. Upton is only on the roster because of his brother, and it's not like he's a superstar. Frank Wren should be fired just because of these two signings....Raymond- Don't know why you hate Skip Caray, he was one of the best I always thought...

slip is an arrogant, self-entitled idiot. Son of a good broadcaster who became a very bitter older man and grandson of one of the great characters but not one of the great broadcasters ever. slip thinks that the world waits for his homerun calls and the louder the better. Seems like the said this about someone else, but it fits more in his case- 'He was born on third and thinks he hit a triple.'

Vin Scully is the best broadcaster of all time - it's not EVEN close - AND he works alone!

Frank Wren definitely screwed up with the 'U's, but I think he did great this March in getting Santana and Harang in an emergency situation.

Agree about Scully, but still surprised about your feelings towards Skip. I had heard he could be an asshole with the public, and somewhat of a jerk....But Hell, can't they all???

I love listening to Scully! Even being on the east coast, I always look for a Dodgers home game on TV in the hopes I can hear him!

Um, I'm no Braves guy and haven't watched their Superstation games in years, but aren't you guys talking past each other? Skip is dead, and clydepepper is ranting about his son Chip, or am I missing something?

I have already penned some of the reason why, but the biggest reason is because the Braves' had their best broadcasting duo in Joe Simpson and Jon Sciambi, but let the later leave for ESPN (with slip replacing him). I thought they had amazing chemistry and added a lot to the telecasts.

slip was really proud of himself with the 'Jay-Hay Kid' moniker he prematurely hung around Jason Heyward's neck and the homerun call, 'Welcome to the Show' which he Yelled after Heyward's first AB homer, as well Yelling the unbelievably corny 'It's a Rocky Mountain High' when a Colorado pitcher completed a no-hitter against the Braves (in Atlanta, not the Rockies, by the way). It's all about volume to slip.

The worst thing about any sports play-by-play is repetition, followed very closely by excess information being provided. slip is monumentally bad on both of these counts.

Frequently, I'll turn off the TV volume and just listen to Don Sutton on the radio. Mr. Sutton is very, very good and you can feel that he respects the game.

Broadcasters are entrusted with some of our fondest memories - and there are a whole lot of them who think only of themselves.

I hope that this makes the reasons for my strong feelings clearer.

I have very similar feelings about Michael Kay in New York. Usually it's left to the former ballplayers to keep Kay from going off the deep end. Ken Singleton being my favorite present Yankees announcer, followed by Paul O'Neill & David Cone.

John Sterling is pretty great on the radio.

I'm not a big fan of either Suzyn Waldman or Al Leiter.

Jim Kaat is probably my All-Time favorite Yankees announcer.

Man I can't believe you like Sterling. I can't tell you how many times I've been in the car listening to a game and hear Sterling go into his home run theatrics only to have him pull back and say the ball was caught or foul. Also goes the other way with him calling a guy out at the wall only to then find out it was a home run. Calls the end of an inning when there are only two outs. A walk a strike out. It goes on and on.

The man is on the radio. He has the luxury of waiting for a play to play out before calling it. Still he gets it wrong all the time.

I have to admit, I would even take slip over sterling...I remember those days too!

Worst Baseball Broadcaster EVER - Dick Stockton - doesn't have a clue and doesn't seem to care...thank goodness I don't have to hear him very often, though it's usually in October.

Default Ernie Harwell

Ernie made summer nights come alive on powerhouse station WJR-- I grew up in NY on the shores of Lake Erie. Still remember listening to the 68 World Series on my transistor radio.

No one comes close to Ernie, not even Scully.
