Default What did the early H&B bats look like?

Does anyone have an example or picture of what the earliest Hillerich bats looked like? I'm working on an illustration of Pete Browning circa 1884 and I'd like to get the bat shape as accurate as possible to what he would have used.

I looked through a few bat books at the library and searched online but can't seem to get a good reference. I figure out of any place to ask, someone on here must have the answer!

Thanks, Gary C.

There is a Pete Browning bat in the Louisville Slugger Museum. Good reason to take a trip to Kentucky.

Thanks guys - that 1888 one will do the trick. I've seen the museum display but the bat looked too modern to me, I figured the handle was thick like the 1888 photo.

Thanks again!
