Default 1921 Cincinnati Reds Postcard - Experts needed!

Posted By: Dan Bretta

Picked this one up off of ebay last week and just got it in....This is actually Fritz Coumbe and not "Combs" as the postcard says - wondering if this is from a series or just a one of a kind real photo postcard. The postcard has raised lettering on the bottom border that says "W.H Pennoyer".

It has the photographer's dry stamp (embossed), which might suggest it was sold. Most real photo postcards don't have the photographer's/studio's name. If it was sold commercially, the photographer would want his name on it.

At the least, it would appear that the postcard is by a professional photographer and not a home made job.

Also, I also wonder if the stamp and "Bill" letter are from the same man.

Thanks David....It does appear to be a professional photograph. It looks like the photo was touched up on his left hand.
