Default What does the Board think these are worth?

Posted By: kyle lentine

I was hoping I could get a board opinion on what they felt these are worth. I have my opinion but it is harder with lower grade cards. I bought the Ruth a few years ago and the cobb about 8 years ago and then encapusulated them. ( I know some members hate the idea) I was just curious how much they may have appreciated over that time
The Ruth has rounded corners and a light crease through his shoulders and wrists that doesnt go to the back of the card. The Cobbs corners are worn as well and he has a crease below his lower lip that goes to the back. (creases may not be visible on scan, although I tried to show them)
Again just wondering what the boards opinion was on the value of these
thanks

I've just curious, from the scans, the Ruth looks to be very similar in condition compared to the Cobb. What makes hte Ruth a 20?

Jay

I though the Ruth would have received a 30 Good 2. I think maybe because the corners are more rounded?? You never really know how these things will come back

To me, the Ruth is in lower condition than the Cobb. The yellow background of the Ruth has a dirty look to it. Maybe it's just a much more significant loss of gloss than the Cobb has.

You'll never know, unless the grader TELLS YOU why they graded a card the way they did.

what they're worth.....I'll shoot from the hip......I think the Cobb is probably in the $350-$500 range. It's got decent color and a relatively clean back. The Ruth is probably in the same range to maybe a little higher. But.....they're both very popular cards and could sell for a little more. I think the slabbing actually hurts their value in the condition shown. Just my opinion, which, with 25 cents will still not get you a cup of coffee.....
